“A. Davis" dressed to the nines at Champagne Soiree
At college, I was memorized by the drinks, drugs, party atmosphere. For a liberal arts college, a lot went down during Wednesday Night Fest to themed weekend events.
I was able to go to one exclusive party during my time there: Champagne Soiree.
Where, freshman at the time, A. Davis was rewarded for his personality and he slipped into a wedding dress.
It was the first time I really recognized that clothes were just clothes (though that was definitely not the intention behind this white dress and flowing champagne). But that was my come to jesus meeting.
It was just a group of friends and acquaintances, recognizing how good he looked. & enjoying each other, no cruel comments, just supportive words and great pictures.
& so I memorialized him.
I can remember the moment and my embracing of a more diverse life.
